Death Microbes

This is a steampunk style card I made using the Graphic 45 ‘Old Curiosity Shop’ papers.  Was for a male friend, and I was really happy with the final result.

Death Microbes

Cream A5 cardstock folded to A6.  Background stamped with honeycomb pattern and also crackle stamp in Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  Two images cut out from the Old Curiosity shop paper pad (Apothecary and Deth Microbes) and trimmed closely then edged in Aged Mahogany and mounted on gold paper.

Background paper is from an A3 sheet I made using cold pressed water colour paper, various water colour sprays, and stamps and background text.  I selected a portion that had the colours and types of images I was after (flowers to go with the apothecary theme, as it they were used for the contents of the jars).  This was distressed with a distressing tool, mounted on gold, and then mounted on the cream cardstock.  The two vintage images were placed on top at various angles.  In the left corner I placed a dye-cut cog and flower, with a burgundy gem at the centre.

I don’t have a scan of the inside, but there was more crackle background and distressing.  I really like this, I want to track down a set of the Apothecary bottle stamps from Hampton Art (which were released to go with the papers).  Of course by the time I tried to look for them, they were all sold out, so will need to keep an eye on ebay I guess.
