I made this for a friend at work, called Red Sparkle Shoes.
Red Sparkle Shoes
Mixed media canvas. Canvas painted with cream acrylic paint, then sponged with red dye ink. Wooden shoe painted with poppy red twinkling H20s, heel covered with Black Soot Stickles. Images and quites edged in red dye ink, then attached to canvas with gel medium. Whole canvas then sealed with two coats of gel medium. Once dry, black soot stickles used to create swirls.
This is similar to a piece I did a few years ago for another work colleage, but hers was a shoe and a handbag and was shopping themed. This was definitely shoe themed, so it has a different look and feel. Lots of fun to make and to find some quotes that suited the work.
