Wicked birthday

And now for something different …

My manager had her birthday on the same day as the super major event I was project managing (was on 14 September, we had an estimated 12,000 – 13,000 in attendance.  I am ready to collapse in a broom cupboard now).

Anyway, I had been saving up some special papers and stamps to use on a card for her, because I know how much she loves Wicked.  I actually got them last year, but was saving them for a special occasion, and then was feeling inspired a few months ago when I did ‘And Your Little Dog Too’ a few months ago.  I used the same Graphic 45 papers and stamp set, but obviously this was a very different palette.

Edited to add in the name of the paper and stamp set:  Magic of Oz by Graphic 45

Wicked-1

White parchment paper torn on edges and edged with Lettuce Adirondak ink.  ‘Happy Birthday’ stamped in Wild Plum, and the Happy overstamped with ‘Wicked’ in Lettuce ink.  Magic of Oz images of Dorothy and Winged Monkies added to paper.  Other images stamped around the edges in Wild Plum and Lettuce ink.

Wicked envelope

Envelope edged with Wild Plum ink.  Brick road stamped in wild plum ink and witches hat stamped in lettuce ink.  Witch card edged with green ink and placed in top left corner.

Overall I was really happy with how this turned out, and my manager seemed to be too.  She has taken down last  years bday card and now has this one displayed on her desk (the other is on her book case with cards I have made from birthdays and Christmases past).

  1. Hi Emma,

they are from the Graphic 45 Magic of Oz sets 1, 2 & 3. Unmounted cling stamps, put out by Hampton Art Stamps to match the Graphic 45 papers.

I got them for myself last year for my birthday – sadly I have learned with the Graphic 45 stuff do very short runs, and if I don’t get it when I see it, chances are very high I won’t ever see it again. Case in point – the Old Curiosity Shoppe apothecary bottles set. 5 different bottles and about 8 lables you can use on them. I’m reduced to scouring ebay

Your thoughts and stuff
