Recently Daedalist requested a card for a male family member. I decided to try out some new things I had to play with, and a different colour scheme to my usual ones. I think it is quite striking.
White cardstock stained with Antique Linen Distress ink and edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The Stampers Anonymous Dragonfly legend was stamped with Vintage Photo ink.
Black Co’ordinations cardstock was embossed with a chicken wire embossing template, and then sanded back to show the core colour. Dragonfly card image layered on top of the embossed card. Ink swiped on part of the raised sanded parts of the card. A piece of twill was swiped with Antique Linen ink then wrapped around the Dragonfly and embossed card.
Patterned paper distressed around the edges, swiped with Vintage Photo ink, and layered on to a black square folded card edged with Cosmic Copper Brilliance ink, then the Dragonfly panel layered on top. Star punched from patterened paper offcut, edged with link and placed on the dragonfly pane.
Paper offcut swiped with Vintage Photo ink and layered on the inside left hand panel of the card. Gold parchement paper cut to size, and punched with a lattice edge punch, swiped with Vintage Photo ink and layered onto the righthand side. Righthand side swiped with Cosmic Copper ink.
I wanted to make the envelope stand out, and it was a good chance to use the offcuts I had left – there would probably not be much chance to use it on something else anyway. So I layered the chickenwire embossed card onto the patterned paper, and swiped it all with ink. three more punched stars added on the right side. Cosmic Copper ink swiped down the left side of the envelope.
